Meet Taycha Lino
We’d love to introduce Taycha Lino, a makeup artist and hairstylist based in NYC.
Briefly share how you became a freelancer.
It all started when I was in High School and I started playing with makeup little by little. I started off with just filling in my eyebrows to foundation to even out my tone. Fast forward a few years later, I began to watch videos on YouTube about eyebrows and I got my first cosmetic job working for Ricky’s NYC. I did my makeup everyday for work, my friends and family would ask me to do their makeup and that’s how’s I began free styling.
What has been your biggest win as a freelancer?
I biggest win as a freelancer was testing my own potential and my creativity. What are some of the hurdles you’ve overcome as a freelancer in Houston? Do you think this hurdles are indicative to Houston or to the freelancer profession overall?
I’ve been living in Houston for 7 weeks and I haven’t really gotten any clients just yet, but I am promoting my work and hopefully I can begin a clientele.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a freelancer?
Promote yourself EVERYDAY, social media is the platform and a lot of relevant hashtags.
Let’s say I’m a client that’s looking to hire a freelancer that does what you do. Why should I hire you?
I am the type of artist that is reliable and understanding. I take time to get to know my clients and know what they looking for and what they want out their service. I make sure all my clients get up from my chair admiring their natural enchanted beauty.
