Briefly share how you became a freelancer.

Was previously a freelancer artist by choice, am now doing freelance work after becoming a UI/UX Designer & Developer after being laid off in July 2020 due to the pandemic.

What has been your biggest win as a freelancer?

A growing network of clients, mentors, and more.

What are some of the hurdles you’ve overcome as a freelancer? Do you think these hurdles are indicative of the freelancer profession overall?

Choosing what projects to take on and pricing them correctly. Yes, I think this is something more freelancers learn to work through, especially at the beginning of their careers.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a freelancer?

Speak to other freelancers about their experiences. Ask questions, do research, and find mentors if possible. Knowledge is power.

Let’s say I’m a client that’s looking to hire a freelancer that does what you do. Why should I hire you?

I have been know to be an excellent communicator, both as a freelancer and working in previous roles. Not only am I easy to reach and keep clients up to date, I’m very receptive to feedback and put a lot of effort into understanding what the client wants. Clients also appreciate how unique my work is, which makes it stand apart from most. My strong background in Fine art and illustration, combined with my more recent development and UI/UX skills, gives me a perspective many in my field haven’t had the opportunity to develop.
