Briefly share how you became a freelancer.
I grew up with entrepreneur parents, I think it was bound to happen. I also married an entrepreneur that really pushed me to work for myself.
What has been your biggest win as a freelancer?
Time with my family. No amount of money can replace that. Doing what I love is like I’m not even working and allows me to create my own schedule.
What are some of the hurdles you’ve overcome as a freelancer in Houston? Do you think these hurdles are indicative to Houston or to the freelancer profession overall?
I started in a vintage market which Houston is very saturated now with many vintage business owners. Finding my inch in that market was most difficult. Learning it’s ok to go against the grain and you’ll attract your customer.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a freelancer?
Don’t give up. Focus on your goal. Get out there!
Let’s say I’m a client that’s looking to hire a freelancer that does what you do. Why should I hire you?
I’m extremely personable but with boundaries. Most of my clients become my friends if not family. I have a wide range of knowledge with a strong passion to serve others.
